Our History
			29 years and counting...

			In 1981 a group
of 15 people met in an Auckland home to encourage each other, study
God’s Word and become more devoted followers of Jesus Christ. It
wasn’t long before the group outgrew the home and began meeting in
various venues throughout central Auckland. By the end of the year
the new church numbered over 100.

			For another year the church
continued to meet in different locations around the city until it was
decided that a more permanent home was needed. The church felt called
to the Greenlane motorway interchange area and in 1983 began
			acquiring property along Marewa Road.

			It was four years before
sufficient property was acquired and building could begin. Turf was
turned in early 1988 and in September that year Greenlane Christian
Centre was officially opened.  Auckland city church

Since then our church has continued to
grow and is now home to over 2,300 members. The original building has
been twice extended, new buildings have been erected, overseas
ministries have been established and are flourishing, cell groups are
expanding and multiplying, and the growth isn’t over yet!

			Our team
of over 20 staff, led by Senior Pastor Terry Calkin, is excited to be
involved in God’s work in this city. We as a staff believe that
the three basic needs of human kind are security, self-worth
and significance. It’s only in a relationship with Jesus Christ
that these needs can be fully met, and what a privilege it is to
introduce people to the One who makes the difference.

			Our ongoing
commitment is to being a family church, building strong marriages,
healthy homes and growing meaningful relationships. We are an
expression of God’s family and would love you to be a part of it.
